Anna Ospelt, born 1987 in Vaduz, where she has been living again since 2019. She studied sociology, media and education studies in Basel. Since 2011 Anna Ospelt has been publishing short stories and poetry in literary magazines and anthologies such as Das Narr, Die Horen, Miromente, Lichtungen, Mosaik und Spritz. Her first journalistic monograph, with photographs by Martin Walser, was published in 2015 (Bucher Verlag, Hohenems). She translates poetry by the American author Elisabeth Sharp McKetta into German. Anna Ospelt has received numerous grants and awards at home and abroad. Most recently, she received a work grant from the Basel Committee of Experts on Literature, was a fellow of the Autorenwerkstatt Prosa of the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin LCB (both in 2018), and in 2019 she won a Nature Writing Scholarship from the Nantesbuch Foundation as part of the German Prize for Nature Writing. In 2020 her latest book, "Wurzelstudien" was published (Limmat Verlag Zurich).
