Omar Ghiani Saba (1984) was born in Cagliari. He graduated from Université Paris-Sorbonne and also holds a degree in International Law from King’s College in London. Saba served in the United Nations in New York and Beirut and his duties concerned matters of development and culture. He writes articles about Middle East for the newspapers Foglio and Limes. In the past, Saba was member of the organizational committee of the European translation festival E.S.T. Europa Spazio di Traduzione. His poetry and literary criticism articles have been published in the magazines Poesia (publ. by Crocetti), Testo a Fronte, Semicerchio, Censimento dei nuovi poeti (at Pordenonelegge.it), Registro d’If, Nuovi Argomenti and the website RAI di poesia (posted in April 2013). He currently translates Arab poetry by Gibran, Rihani and Ziana into French and Italian for the charity foundation Fondazione di Franzia.
