Gabriel Ventura (b. 1988) is native of Granollers. He has published the poetry collections “Ignar” (Ignorant, publ. by Poncianes, 2013) and “W” (publ. by Poncianes, 2017). He often collaborates with other artists and explores the areas of intersection between literature and other arts. He has translated works by Samuel Beckett, Sarah Holland-Batt, Jen George, Judith Thurman and Joseph Brodski into Catalan. He was awarded the Montserrat Roig fellowship in 2018. A number of his poems has been translated into English and Dutch, and he was also featured in the anthology “Mig segle de poesia catalana” (publ. by group52, 2018). In 2019, Ventura wrote the production diary for the film “Liberté” by Albert Serra, with whom he has collaborated on many occasions.
