Pau Vadell i Valbona (b. 1984) was raised in Calonge. He is poet, director of the publishing house AdiA, historian and organizer of cultural events. He has so far published twelve poetry collections, most of them award-winning, and his most recent publications are: “Temple” (won the Miquel Àngel Riera prize, 2009), “Apèndix City” (City-appendage, 2010), “Carnatge” (Carnage, 2012), “Sange Cremada” (Cremated blood, won the Vila de Lloseta prize, 2014), “Trait” (Betrayed, won the Senyoriu Ausiàs March prize, 2015), “Esquenes vinclades” (Backs joined together, won the Jocs Florals prize, 2017) and “Terra llarga” (The long land, 2019). In 2018, Valdona translated and published Tonino Guerra’s “La Mel” in collaboration with Lucia Pietrelli. He has given poetry recitals in festivals and events in Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Palestine, Mexico and Italy, where his works have been published in translations. He also coordinates the activities and operations of the Centre de Poesia Contemporània Blai Bonet (Blai Bonet Center for Contemporary Poetry) and holds the office of vice president of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan-Language Writers, AELC).
