Sophie Reyer (1984) was born in Vienna, where she currently lives. After completing her studies in Composition – Musical Theater, Writing for Performance and Film Scripting and Directing at Kunsthochschule für Medien in Koln, she was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Vienna. She has penned a large number of theatrical plays and novels published by S. Fischer, Edition Atelier, Czernin, and other publishing houses. She was the recipient of the City of Graz Literature Prize for 2010 and 2013, and also won the 2013 “Nah Dran!” award for her children’s theater play Anna und der Wulian (Anna and the Wulian). She currently teaches Film, Mass Media and Theater Studies at the University of Vienna and at the University of Education of Lower Austria in Hollabrunn.
