Belfjore Qose (Zifla) (born November 19, 1985 in Tirana, Albania) is an Albanian poet and prose writer. She’s a doctor in literary studies and teaches Modern World Literature of the 20 th century, History of Albanian Literature and Russian and Slavic Literature at the University of Tirana. Her first poetry book Aurat a natës/Auras of the night, (Ombra GVG Editions, 2017) was awarded with a prize for young authors by the Ministry of Culture of Albania. At the same year the book was voted by the readers as the best Poetry Book at the Bukinist Literary Platform. Since July 2017 she is a founding member of Albanian Young Academy, at the Albanian Academy of Science. Among her collections of poems published in many Albanian Literary Reviews we can mention: “The Genesis and The End Transmuted into Midnight” published by “Fjala” Review, 2018, “Escape from the Night” published by “Illz” Review, 2019, “Six poems”, POETEKA 46 (No. 4 / 2017), “Fragile days, lucid nights” published by “Fjala Review”, 2013 and many other poems published by “Jeta e re”, “Poeteka”, “Fjala Review”, “MeArteka”, “Kult”, “Kultpoint” etc. Her short stories “Traveling”, “On whiteness”, “The Minotaur” published in “Jeta e re” (New Life) Literary Review were followed by a positive critical response by many Albanian critics. Her poetry book “Auras of the night” was well received and the acclaimed author and writer Agron Tufa wrote a paper “The Metaphysics of the Elegy and the Requiem”. The scholar Edona Marku wrote the article “The Spiritual Emphasis of Auras of the night”. Many of her poems and short stories are translated and published in literary reviews outside Albania, such as in “Haemus” Review in Bucharest translated by the Albanian Writer and Academic A. Ch. Kyçyku, in Poetry Bay in U.S.A., In Les femmes (se) racontent in French, and in the Anthology of Albanian Poetry published in Taiwan at 2017. She is devoted in making literature influential, through many reading events she organizes, e.g. “Tirana Reads”, which became a tradition for the city. She has been teaching Creative Writing lectures for three years at the Festival of Young Writers of Tirana and she is an active collaborator of the “Ditët e Naimit” International Poetry Festival of Tetovo, North Macedonia.
