Carolina Pihelgas (b. 1986) is a native of Tallinn and currently lives at Tartu. She graduated in Religious Anthropology from the University of Tartu. She mainly works as translator from and into various languages, and also holds the positions of editor-in-chief of the literary magazine Värske Rõhk and editor of translation magazine Ninniku. Her poetry books are: Sõrmemuster (Finger shapes, 2006), Metsas Algavad Hääled (Voices coming from the woods, 2010), Õnnekangestus (The Rigor of Luck, 2011), Kiri Kodust (Letter from home, 2014), Kivipilvede All (Small Dark Things, 2017) and Valgus Kivi Sees (Light on the stone, 2019). She has also edited anthologies of poetry and published many poetry translations, including a collection of poems by Constantine Cavafy (published in 2014).
