Éric Piette was born in 1983 in Charleroi, Belgium. He studied moral philosophy at the Université Libre in Brussels. In 2011, his first book Voz (train in Serbian) was published by Le Taillis Pré. For this book he received the Nicole Houssa Prize of Belgian Royal Academy of French Language and Literature and the Gauchez-Philippot Prize. His second book, L’impossible nudité (The Impossible Nudity), was also published by Le Taillis Pré in 2014, and won the Polak Prize of the Royal Belgian Academy of French Language and Literature, as well as the Marcel Thiry Prize.
