Natálie Paterová was born in a small town on the Czech and Polish border. She is a Bohemian Studies specialist and pessimist. She loves the poetry of Emily Dickinson and the colour orange, the latter being a symptom of mental derangement. She says things straight, therefore she does not have many friends. She is married and believes in love at first sight. She has published a debut collection, Uvnitř kosti duha (The Rainbow Inside the Bone, Protimluv 2012), and in literary magazines. She has been awarded several literary prizes. Her poetry has been included in the anthology Briketa (Větrné mlýny, 2014), in the almanac Pulz Vyšehradskej štvorky (2012), and in the anthology of Young Christian authors Hledání (2014). Her poems have been translated into Polish (the anthology Przewodnik po zaminowanym terenie, 2016) and German; on occasion, she also translates from Polish. In 2019 her second collection Co když (What If) will be published by the Protimluv publishing house, as well as a bilingual collection Ohne Option (No Options) by the German publishing house Hochroth.
