Roelof ten Napel (1993) is a poet and writer. He studied mathematics and received a master's degree in philosophy of science. He has published poems, short stories and essays in distinguished literary magazines. He made his debut with a collection of short stories, which received very positive reviews (Constellaties, Constellations, 2014), which was followed his novel Het leven zelf (2017, Life Itself). In 2018, his first poetry collection Het woedeboek (The Book of Anger) was published and nominated for three major poetry awards. In this meticulous and structured poetry, "anger" is detected only in the deeper layers of the text. The issues are, among others, the alienation and abandonment of tradition, faith, as well as elements of his personal history. The collection also includes some impressive love poems. His most recent poetry collection is entitled In het vlees (2020, In the flesh).
