Sònia Moya Villanueva (b. 1981) was raised in Cerdanyola del Vallès. She works as teacher since 2005 and researches how words function as tools for social transformation. She collaborates with the Manresa-based Tocats de Lletra festival since 2008. From 2013 to date, she also coordinates the activities of the poetry reading club of the Ateneu Les Bases library, and contributes to various educational activities and projects, working alongside students and professionals, such as, for example, in the coordination of the reading plan of the Bages Sud Institute for the academic year 2016-17. Her published books are: “Gramàtica de l’equilibri” (The grammar of equilibrium, publ. by Galerada, won the Amadeu Oller poetry prize for 2010), “Plutó” (Pluto, publ. by Témenos, won the Mossèn Marcís Saguer prize for 2014), “Intersecció de conjunts” (Intersection of conjunctions, publ. by Témenos, Col·lecció Lai, 2017) and “Càntata” (Songs, publ. by Témenos, Col·lecció Lai, 2018). She recently won the Narcís Lunes i Boloix prize for her book “Silur” (Catfish, publ. by Meteora, 2019). She experiences poetry holistically, which is why she has sought collaborations with musicians, such as María Di Pace, Pau Ruiz and Celeste Alías, alongside whom she has appeared in various performances, including “Intersecció de conjunts”, “Tot sembla tan senzill” (with poems by Montserrat Abelló) and “Així com un vent”. Villanueva has also collaborated with visual artists, such as Txema Rico, Wuim Moya, Marion Vilaseca and Gill Bradley, as well as dancers, such as Maria Ribera and Laura Bataller.
