Maria Antònia Massanet (b. 1980) is native of Artà and holds a Bachelor in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s Degree on Women, Gender and Citizenship studies from the Inter-University Institute of Women’s Studies and Gender Research (IIEDG). She works as teacher in secondary education, directs the PoésArt festival and holds the office of secretary of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan-Language Writers, AELC). Her reviews and articles have appeared in the magazines Caràcters, Poetari, Serra d’Or, Núvol, el Quadern de les idees, les arts i les lletres and Llavor Cultural. Her published poetry collections are: “Disseccions emocionals” (Emotional dissections, won the Art Jove de Poesia 2006), “El moll de l’os” (Platelet of the marrow, 2012), “Batec” (Pulse, publ. by Curbet, 2014), “Kiribati” (publ. by AdiA, 2015, 2nd edition: 2017), “Aus de ramat” (publ. by AdiA, 2019). Massanet was also involved in the publication of the anthology “Amb accent a la neutral. Antologia de dones poetes a Mallorca” (publ. by Lleonard Muntaner, 2014). Her poems have been featured in various anthologies, including “60 women in Catalan” (publ. by Raig Verd, 2017), “A mig segle de poesia catalana. Del Maig del 68 al 2018” (publ. by Proa, 2018) and “Amores sense caza. Antologia de poesia catalana LGBTQ” (publ. by Angle, 2018).
