Vagia Kalfa (Alexandroupolis, 1984) has studied Modern Greek Literature in Komotini (Greece) and Birmingham (UK) and Gender Studies in Nicosia (Cyprus). She is currently a PhD candidate in the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis (Netherlands). She has published two poetic collections, Apla Pragmata (2012) and Lithostroto (2013). For her debut collection she has been awarded Athanas Award (Academy of Athens) and Yorgos Varveris Award (Hellenic Writers Society). Her collection was also shortlisted for the State Literary Award and the awards of the literary journals Anagnostis and Mandragoras. She is a columnist in the literary journals Thraca and Poeticanet. Her forthcoming collection will be published by Thraca in autumn 2022.
