Valerio Grutt (1983) was born in Naples. He is author of Una città chiamata le sei di mattina (A city calls at six in the morning, publ. by Meridiana, 2009), Qualcuno dica buonanotte (Somebody say goodnight, publ. by Alla chiara Fonte, 2013), Però qualcosa chiama (Yet somebody called, publ. by Alos, 2014) and several other poetry books. His poems were also published in Poeti italiani underground (Underground Italian poets, publ. by Il saggiatore, 2006) and Centrale di Transito (Central Transit, publ. by Perrone, 2016), and in translation in various magazines. He served as director of the Center for Contemporary Poetry at the University of Bologna from 2013 to 2016 and currently leads the poetry group “Piccola collana di poesia Heket”. Valerio Grutt is professionally involved with poetry and music, stages shows and performances and organizes workshops in collaboration with artists from various genres of art.
