Àngels Gregori (b. 1985) is native of Oliva. She is author of the books: “Bambolines” (Dolls, won the Amadeu Coller prize, 2003), “Llibre de las brandàliers” (The book of brandies, won the Ausiàs March de Gandia, 2007), “New York, Nabokov i Bicicletes” (New York, Nabokov and Bicycles, won the Alfons el Magnànim, 2010), “Quan érem divendres” (When we were Fridays, won the Jocs Florals de Barcelona prize, 2013). She holds a Bachelor in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of Barcelona, a Master’s Degree in Cultural Studies from the Open University of Catalonia (with which she collaborates), and a PhD in Literature from the University of Valencia, where she also teaches. In 2005, she launched the international poetry festival Poefesta, which is annually held in Oliva (www.poefesta.com). She also directs the festival La Nit de Poesia de San Cugat and the international poetry festival of Lleida, while she is also joint director of the poetry festival Barcelona Poesia. Gregori was recently awarded the Vicent Andrés Estellés prize of the city of Burjassot for her book “Quan als gran arbres cauen” (When the great trees fall).
