Merima Dizdarević was born in Bosnia-Herzegovina (in the then-unified Yugoslavia) and moved to Sweden as refugee in 1993. She debuted with the multilingual poetry compilation “Self-Preservations Sans Aesthetic Principles” in 2015. She writes and translates (although her translations are sporadic) into Swedish, English and naski / BKMS (Bosnian – Croatian – Montenegro – Serbian). Her poems and prose have been translated into various languages, such as Mandarin, Arab, Naski, German and Swedish. She is also involved in performances, music and experimental visual arts. She works at the library of Malmö and also gives lectures on naski at the Swedish Library Company BTJ.
