Maxim Coton was born in La Louvier (Belgium) in 1986. He published mainly poetry collections: La Biographie de Morgane Eldä (The Biography of Morgane Eldä) by Tétras Lyre in 2004, Le Geste ordinaire (The Ordinary Gesture) by Esperluè in 2011, Où votre oeil s'efface (Where your eye fades) by Atelier du Hanneton, in 2013, L’Imparfait des langues (The Imperfect of Languages) by L’Arbre à Paroles, το 2014. He also writes novels, such as Resplendir (Shine) by Esperluète publications, in 2014, and theatrical plays. Recently, he participated in many writing programs, mainly in Belgium and Germany, and received scholarships for literary creation. For Ordinary Gesture, he received the award Poésyvelines in 2011 (France), the Georges Lockem in 2012 (Belgian Royal Academy of French Language and Literature) and the Charles Plisnier in 2013, awarded by the Province of Hainaut (Belgium). The book-object, as he calls it, the interactive book entitled Pages Vivantes (Living Pages) was released in 2019 by l’Arbre de Diane. For The Imperfect of Languages, he received the award Geneviève Gran’Ry in 2012. Although multitasking for a long time, he has now devoted himself to literature, working on a variety of forms and means because books are necessary but not enough.
