David Caño (b. 1980) was raised in Olot and lives in Barcelona since 1998. He has published seven poetry collections and has given hundreds of recitals in Catalan-speaking regions, either solo, or jointly with singer Meritxell Gené, with whom he performs the show “Branques del capvespre, udols a l’horabaixa”. He formed the band Ovidi3 with Borja Penalba and David Fernández, with whom he staged the show “Un temps, una estima, una idea”. Ovidi3 was recently renamed as Ovidi4, owning to the inclusion of the Valencia-born singer Mireia Vives, and their new show is called “Cuidem-nos”. Moreover, Caño, Penalba and Vives are also the creators of the show “Línies en el cel electric”, which has toured in various locations, including Zadar, Zagreb, Brno, Berlin, Brussels, Liege, Paris and Manheim. As a journalist, he was worked with various magazines and media, including Benzina, La Directa, L’Accent, El Punt Avui, Núvol, Critic and Illacrua. Caño was the winner of the 2007 Amadeu Oller prize and the 2009 Vila de Lloseta prize.
