Alexandre Caldarra (1977) is a Swiss poet, journalist and performer born in Neuchatel to a family with roots in Apulia and Catalonia. He currently lives in and divides his time between Neuchatel, Peseux and Bern. His two poetic novels “L’Émacie” (The gaunt) and “Volubiles Nudités” (Voluble Nudities) were released by the publishing house Samizdat in 2015 and 2017, respectively. In 2018, he published “Peseux Patterson” (publ. by d’autre part) and the poetry compilation “Cabinet de nébulosités” (Cabinet of Indefinitions, publ. by Miel de l’ours) in collaboration with Sibylle Monney. He illustrates his books himself, with the aid of the ingenious guitarist Vinz Vonlanthen. When alone, he invents the company of others. To him, reading is the same as breathing and exhaling air. He cites Neuchatel, Ganges and Seine as his sources of inspiration. Alexandre Caldarra and choreographer and dancer Catherine Dethy have formed the performance duo l’ossature des choses, staging performances that combine voice and motion.
