Inge Braeckman studied Latin and Ancient Greek, graduated from the Law School and studied German Philology. She made her debut in 2009 with the poetry collection Beeltenissen from the Poëzie Centrum editions of Ghent. Since then, the collections of poems Incantaties 1 (Spells 1, 2011), Incantaties 2 (Spells 2, 2013) and Venus ’Vonken (Aphrodite Sparks, 2018) in the same publishing house followed. In 2016 she published in Ergo Pers Publications the collection Bougainvillea. In 2018, the collection Onder de olijfbomen van Lesbos (Under the olive trees of Lesvos) was released by S.M.A.K. of Ghent. The Uitgeverij P publications combined her poems with photos by Malou Swinnen in 2019, a collaboration that culminated in the book la pose voilée (the covered pose). In 2020 the collection In de eerste uren Zomer (The first hours of summer) was released by Borgerhoff & Lamberigts. In 2012 the poetry collection Incantaties 1 was a nominee for the Herman De Coninckprijs award. In 2013 one of her poems was selected in the list of 100 best poems for the VSB Poetry Award. Inge Brackman's poems are constantly being translated and published in French, English, German, Italian, Romanian, Nepali, Korean, Croatian, and other languages.
