Hannah van Binsbergen (1993) is a poet, novelist and critic. She studied philosophy in Amsterdam. Her first poems appeared in various magazines. In 2016, her first poetry collection Kwaad gesternte (Evil Star) was released, for which in 2017 she won the important VSB Poëzieprijs award, as the youngest poet in the history of the institution. She wrote accompanying poems in a translated poetry collection by the Russian Nika Toerbina, in Mijn leven is een schetsblad (2017, My life is a sketch sheet). Early 2020 saw the release of her first novel Harpie. In her poetry, Hannah explores what unfolds in herself and her environment, without avoiding important issues. She also writes in a committed way about people moving outside the box. In her poetry, the magic of speech plays an essential role.
