Maddalena Bergamin (1986) was born in Padua and currently lives in Paris. She graduated from the University Ca’ Forscari in Venetia and the University of Sapienza in Rome and she is currently a doctoral researcher at Université Paris-Sorbonne, where she also teaches Italian Language and Civilization. Bergamin’s main field of interest is contemporary women’s poetry, which she explores from a Lacanian psychoanalytic perspective. Her debut poetry book was titled Comunque, la pioggia (Anyway, the rain, publ. by Giulio Perrone, 2007). Her poem Scoppieranno anche queste stagioni (These seasons also exploded) was included in XII Quaderno di poesia contemporanea (publ. by Marcos y Marcos, with a preface by Fabio Pusterla). Several of her texts were also featured in Quadernario 2016 (publ. by Lietocolle, Maurizio Cucchi, ed.). Her sophomore book L’ultima volta in Italia (The final stroll in Italy) was published by Interlinea in 2017 and edited by Franco Buffoni.
