Elina Bakule-Veira (1981) started her poetic quest in 2002, encouraged by her literature professor in USA. In 2015, Elina Bakule-Veira received “The best debut in Latvian literature” prize for her first collection of poetry “An Elephant An Ocean”. Although Elina Bakule-Veira calls poetry her home, she always discovers new means of expression. In 2016, Elina graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture with an MA in Film Directing. Her art-house short films were selected for various film festivals and were twice nominated for “The best student film”. Elina Bakule-Veira also attended children music school (piano class) and later in life mastered other instruments. During her stay in Portugal in 2017, Elina Bakule-Veira, along with two other artists, recorded cacophony album “Areia”.
