Tamara Andrés (1992) studied translation and interpretation and holds MA’s in Literature and Cultural Studies and in Foreign Language Teaching in Secondary Education. She works as translator, interpreter, text editor and foreign language teacher, and currently prepares her doctoral dissertation on the subject of private translation in contemporary Galician women’s poetry. Her debut poetry collection Nenæspiraes won the “O Facho” poetry prize in 2015. In 2017, she published Corpo de Antiochia (publ. by Galaxia). The publishing house Libros del Aire released her own Spanish translation of this work in 2018, under the title Cuerpo de Antiochia, which was subsequently nominated for the “Miguel Hernández” National Youth Poetry Award. A number of her poems were included in the anthology of young Galician poets No seu despregar (publ. by Apiario, 2016). Irmá paxaro, a book of poems dedicated to her sister, is due for release in 2019. She enjoys acting and leads projects that adapt texts into stage performances.
