Jaume C. Pons Alorda (b. 1984) was raised in Caimari, Mallorca. He is poet, narrator, translator, creative writing teacher and publisher. He is author of the trilogy “Tots els sepulchers” (All the graves, publ. by LaBreu), “Cala for als ossos” (Burn the bones, publ. by Terrícola) and “Era” (Era, publ. by LaBreu), the short novel “Faula” (The myth, publ. by Lleonard Muntaner) and the book “Apocalipsi uuuuuuuaaaaaaa” (Apocalypse uuuuuuuaaaaaaa, publ. by Comanegra), which is the production diary of the film “Història de la meva mort” by the internationally acclaimed Catalan director Alberta Serra. Alorda has been featured in the poetry anthologies “La recerca del flamenc” (publ. by LaBreu), “Punts de fuga. 26 relats sobre viatges en el temps” (publ. by Males Herbes), “Gira Barcelona” (publ. by Comanegra), “Agropower” (publ. by AdiA), “Sangassa” (publ. by AdiA), “Estats alterats de la ment” (publ. by Males Herbes) and “GENERACIÓ (H) ORIGINAL” (publ. by LaBreu). His monumental translation of Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of grass” into Catalan won him the much sought-after Cavall Verd i Serra d’Or literary prize. He has also adapted Ramon Llull’s “Arbre exemplifical” into modern Catalan. Alorda continues to play concerts, organize art events and teach with the same euphoric, epic and grandiose vitality, and he also currently prepares the short story collection “Escola d’Energia” (The school of energy) and two novels, titled “Ciutat de mal” (The city of evil) and “Matanges” (Massacres).
