Vakxikon is a publishing house that loves poetry and proves this love constantly and consistently not only through its publications of books by Greek poets, but mostly by making us privy to foreign poetry that is largely unknown to our country. In the past, we had interviewed foreign poets whose books were published in Greek for the first time by Vakxikon. Nevertheless, the 48th Zappeion Book Festival had more poetic surprises in store for us, in the form of three volumes from the series of Anthologies of Young Poets (from Ireland, Sweden and France), while many poets featured in the anthologies were also present in the festival. I visited the festival on the day of spotlight on Swedish poetry. Afterwards, when I read the book, I was greatly impressed by the diversity and richness of the poetry featured in the anthology’s pages – and in a bilingual edition, no less.
