[Anthologist] Carlos Vitale was born in 1953 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has graduated in Spanish and Italian Literature and lives in Barcelona since 1981. His complete poetic opus is contained in the volume “Unidad de lugar” (publ. by Candaya, 2004), which comprises the collections: “Códigos” (1981), “Noción de realidad” (1987), “Confabulaciones” (1992) and “Autorretratos” (2001). He has translated many works by Italian and Catalan poets, including Joan Brossa, Dino Campana, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Sergio Corazzini, Umberto Saba, Sandro Penna, Eugenio Montale (for which he won the Ángel Crespo prize for best translation in 2006), as well as many others..
