[Anthologist] (1959, Cyprus) studied Modern Greek Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1980 – 1984), where he continued with postgraduate and doctoral studies (MA in 1989, PhD in 1994). He teaches at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, University of Cyprus, since 1994. As part of the “Socrates” programme, he taught and lectured at the University of Palermo, the Institut National des Langues et Civilizations Orientales (in Paris) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has published the following books: “I Kypriaki Logotechnia ston Typo” (Cypriot Literature in the Press, in 1993), “Ta Prota Vimata tis Kypriakis Logotechnikis Kritikis 1880 – 1930” (The First Steps of the Cypriot Literary Critique 1880 – 1930, in 1997), “Logotechnikes Metafraseis tou Meizonos Ellinismou: Mikrasia – Kypros – Egyptos 1880 – 1930” (Literary Translations of the Hellenic World: Asia Minor – Cyprus – Egypt 1880 – 1930, in 1998), “Stochastikes Prosarmoges” (Reflective Adaptations, in 2000), “Periodika Logou kai Technis” (Art and Literature Periodicals, in 2004), “Opseis Tis Poiitikis tou Kosta Monti” (Aspects of the Poetry of Kostas Montis, in 2006), “Kypriaki Metasymvolistiki Poiisi” (Cypriot Post-Symbolic Poetry, in 2009). In 2010, he won the Academy of Athens Award (Eleni & Panos Psimenos Award) jointly with Giorgos Kechagioglou for their book “Istoria Tis Neoteris Kypriakis Logotechnias” (History of Modern Cypriot Literature).
He is the editor of the journal “Mikrofilologika” (1997 – ongoing).
