[Τranslator] Born in Athens in 1943. She holds diplomas in piano performance and fugue. She worked as music teacher in secondary public education until her retirement. In 2010, her translation of Anton Chekov’s “Overdoing It” won the 2nd Prize for Translation in the international Chekhov contest. Her translations of Russian poetry and short stories have been published in printed magazines Frear, Mandragoras, Koukoutsi, Dentro and Koralli and the online magazines Planodion and Anagnostis; her translation of Chekhov’s short story “The Dependents” is part of the syllabus for the 2nd Grade of Gymnasium in Cyprus and can be found on the website of the Cypriot Ministry of Education. She is regular contributor to online magazines Strovilos, Vakxikon, Peri Ou and Diasticho, in which she publishes short stories, poems, essays and opinion articles. Since 2014, she collaborates with the publishing house of Tsoukatou & Lemvos and has so far published the following books: Feodor Chaliapin’s autobiography “Mask and Soul”, Anton Chekhov’s “Sakhalin Island”, four books for the publishing house’s “Mikres Viografies” (“Small Biographies”) book series: “A View into the world of Anton Chekhov”, “A View into the world of Aleksandr Pushkin”, “A View into the world of Fyodor Dostoevsky” and “A View into the world of Anna Akhmatova” (to be published), as well as Aleksandr Pushkin’s historical prose novel “The History of Pugachev” and Dina Rubina’s “Sun Side of the Street”, a contemporary novel based on her memories of Soviet-era Tashkent. She participated with two short stories in the anthology “Istories Bonzai ’14” (“Bonsai Tales ’14) by Gavrielides Books. In 2017, her Greek translation of Konstantin Simonov’s poem “Wait for Me” was integrated in the text of the Greek translation of Simonov’s novel “The Living and the Dead” by Aris Alexandrou and published by Govostis Publications. During the same period, she collaborated with Ekati Publishing Company and released the following books: “Astrology: The Dead Science” by Tadeusz Zieliński, “Paris” by Vladimir Mayakovsky, “Rosiki Dianoisi I: Exegermenoi Poiites” (Russian Intellectuals I: Poets in Rebellion), “Rosiki Dianoisi II: O Megalos Limos (1891 – 1892)” (Russian Intellectuals II: The Great Famine (1891 – 1892)”), “Asmata tou Oktovri” (Songs of October), which is a compilation featuring poems by Maxim Gorky and Vladimir Mayakovsky, and the soon-to-be-published book by Nikolai Kondratiev “The Major Economic Cycles”. The fruit of her most recent collaboration with Vakxikon Editions is the publication of vaudevillian play “Trouble from Gentle Heart” by Vladimir Sollogub.
