Saša Đorđević was born in Bor in 1977. He graduated from the Department of Neo-Hellenic Studies in Belgrade in 2005, and defended his master's thesis in 2009 in Nicosia. He taught contemporary Greek literature at the Department of Neo-Hellenistics at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade from 2009 to 2016. He is an associate of the Research Center for Neo-Hellenic Studies Petrondas at the Department of Byzantine and Neo-Hellenic Studies of the University of Cyprus in Nicosia. He was a scholarship holder of the Levendis Foundation from Cyprus (2006-2007), as well as a scholarship holder of the University of Cyprus (2016-2017). He translates contemporary Greek literature into Serbian, and in 2016 he received the Ljubiša Rajić Award of the Association of Literary Translators of Serbia for the best first published translation ("Noah in the city", by Efrosini Manda-Lazarus). He writes and publishes scientific papers on modern Greek literature and culture, participates in international conferences and seminars, and collaborates on research and translation projects. He lives and works in Nicosia.
