[Anthologist] Arthur Bot (1964) is a translator and researcher / lecturer at the Department of Modern Greek Studies and Byzantinology at the University of Amsterdam, where he teaches modern Greek language and literature and Byzantine history. He also teaches Italian at the Department of European Studies and Contemporary Dutch Literature at the Department of Dutch Studies at the University of Amsterdam. He has taught Modern Greek Philology and Byzantine studies at the University of Groningen as well as Latin and Ancient Greek in high schools in the Netherlands. He has written articles and scientific studies on early and modern Greek literature. He has published literary translations into Dutch from English, Italian and Greek. Among them is the important anthology of 50 short stories from modern Greek literature, that he published together with Anna Decker (Moderne Griekse vertellingen, Dordrecht 2013). He is vice-president of the Dutch Society for Modern Greek Studies (NGNS).
