Jaak Urmet, a.k.a. Wimberg (b. 1979) was born in Saku, at the outskirts of Tallinn. He studied Estonian Language, Pedagogy and History and holds a Bachelor in Pedagogy (2002) and a Master’s Degree in Literature (2004). He has been employed in various jobs, including editing for newspapers and publishing houses and works as full-time writer since 2008. His first works saw print as early as 1998 and he has since released a large number of books, including the poetry collections Eesti Köökk (Liberated Verses, 2010) and Hõõguvad Read (Burning Lines, 2011). His most important non-fiction works are the historical books Tühjad Pihud (Empty Hands, 2013) and Saarineni Maja (The House of Saarinen, 2013).
