Kaupo Meiel (b. 1975) was born in Pärnu, Estonia and studied Estonian Literature. He has worked as literature teacher, journalist and book editor at a publishing house. His poetry collections include: Polügrafisti Käsiraamat (A Printer’s Manual, 2006), Eesti Elulood (Estonian Biographies, 2008), Mu Sokid On Terved (My Socks Are Brand New, 2010), Pursata Vesuuvile (Eruption to Vesuvius, 2013) and Lühistu Koosolek (A Short-Circuited Meeting, 2017). He is also author of the book of essays and literary criticism titled Turg On Jumal (The Market is God, 2014) and the popular history book Just sellist Eestit. Eesti Vabariigi 101 aastat ja 101 suurkuju (Just This Estonia: 101 Years of the Republic of Estonia and 101 Great Personalities (written in collaboration with Peeter Helme, Mari Niitra and Elle-Mari Taliveega, 2018).
